ABHW’s Approach to Psychiatric Care for Kids

We are proud to announce that, as of June 2024, Ahwatukee Behavioral Health & Wellness will now be offering psychiatric care for children ages 6 and older.  At ABHW, we strive to fulfill critical needs in our community, including the need for psychiatric care for pre-teen children.  We understand that mental health is a crucial aspect of a child’s psychological development and well-being, and how early intervention can make a significant impact on a child’s life.

Our dedicated team is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care that is tailored to our younger patients’ needs.  At Ahwatukee Behavioral Health & Wellness, our providers who see younger children treat a variety of emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues.  At ABHW, we understand that each child is unique, and we strive to create a supportive environment where they can receive the care that they need to thrive in school, at home, and in life.

Children ages 6 and older will participate in an initial assessment along with their families. From there, our providers will work to develop an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to the specific circumstances and goals of the child and their family, and will conduct regular follow-ups to adjust any treatment plans and medication that is prescribed.  At ABHW, we are committed to being a long-term partner in your child’s mental and behavioral health journey.

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment with a psychiatric provider who sees children ages 6 and older, please contact us today.  We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Ahwatukee Behavioral Health & Wellness.
