ABHW’s Approach to Mental Health Care for Teenagers
Ahwatukee Behavioral Health & Wellness is pleased to announce that, as of June 2024, the practice will be accepting adolescent patients for psychiatric care. At ABHW, we know that there is a critical need for high-quality, affordable psychiatric care of teenagers that is covered by insurance. We understand that adolescence is a volatile and complicated time, and that obtaining mental and behavioral health care can have a transformative impact on the lives of teenagers by offering a needed intervention at a critical moment in life.
Our dedicated and compassionate team works with adolescents and their families to offer holistic, integrated care. Our providers work with adolescents with a variety of mental health issues, including depression, trauma, anxiety, and grief, as well as substance use and addiction issues. At ABHW, we offer patient-centered care that is founded upon our recognition that no two teenagers are alike, and effective mental and behavioral health care begins by understanding each patient’s unique circumstances and goals.
Children ages 6 and older will participate in an initial assessment along with their families. From there, our providers will work to develop an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to the specific circumstances and goals of the child and their family, and will conduct regular follow-ups to adjust any treatment plans and medication that is prescribed. At ABHW, we are committed to being a long-term partner in your child’s mental and behavioral health journey.
